AboutLogoBlush.gif

The place that you find your dress is as important as the dress its self.  Your experience should be enjoyable NOT stressful and your experts should be welcoming and helpful.  If you are not treated well from the first contact you should be concerned, it could set the tone for the rest your experience should you purchase your dress there.

I will be showcasing from time to time Bridal Boutiques that have set the bar high in personal service...

Today our Spotlight is on  Blush Couture in Dallas

The boutique carries some of my favorite designers.. Caroline DeVillo..  I'll brag about her soon!! Augusta Jones, Haute Bride Just to name a few... They provide great customer service from first contact If you are in the Dallas area I encourage you to put Blush on your list!!!

The Power of Flower......

The Bouquet you chose should always be in proportion to your dress this should also be true for your maids. If your dress is a sheath or mermaid style then a smaller bouquet is perfect. If you choose a Ball Gown or A-line style a Larger Bouquet is Fitting!! You don't want your flowers to over power you....

Gloves... Hands Down

Gloves are not the most common as other bridal accessories but I think we should talk about them. There are many options from length to fabrics. Opera Length is the most formal of all, which should be worn with sleeveless or strap less dresses. Elbow Length should be worn with cap sleeve or off the shoulder.  They come in Silk, Lace and Leather. Gloves can really set off your GLAMOROUS look ...NOTE get the gloves with the three buttons at the wrist if you do not want to have to keep taking them on and off. My advice just wear them for the ceremony...

Dear The Dresspert

BirnbaumBullockBallgown.jpgDear The Dresspert,

I am getting married in June and I found my dream dress!  I spent a little more than I wanted but I had to have it!! You know how that is.

I went in to for my first fitting and it was a little big in the bust and waist and needs some hemming.  I thought when they took my measurements, my dress would fit perfect or a least closer to my real size.  However it is a inch or so bigger. Is this normal or did they just measure wrong?

The Altered Bride

Dear Altered Bride,

First let me congratulate you on finding your dream dress!  And I know how you feel that your dress should have fit perfect, but it never turns out like that..usually.  In most cases there are always alterations that need to be done. Every designer has a set of measurements they use so even though your measurements are taken, they are done so to find the size that best works for you.  Plus, every bride in my experience has changes in their measurements between the time they order the dress and the final fitting. Usually they loose weight so the dresses have to be taken in.  So you are experiencing the norm when it comes to alterations!

Thank you for your question and Good Luck and Much Happiness on your Wedding Day!
